James Anderson has played a very important role of mentor-ship and support for his son Troy Anderson, who’s the owner of Godby Safe and Lock. Jim supported and mentored Troy during his formative years as he was growing up and now that support has transitioned to the point where Jim now dedicates his time to helping to maintain the quality at our company as well as being one of the bolts that keeps the structure strong.
Jim, a lovable and charismatic figure, is generally a ‘jack of all trades’. He likes to dabble in multiple administrative duties at the company, however, his main tasks on a day to day basis would be coordinating our locksmith dispatch team to their locations and handling all billing transactions.
Jim had a successful career in the insurance business for 35 years prior to ‘officially’ joining the Godby Safe and Lock family 15 years ago. He finds joy everyday in working closely with his son. Jim would definitely describe the bond with everyone in the office as family focused.
He describes the company as “a family concerned with the security of others” and it is because of our strict adherence to this credo, combined with our years of experience in the industry that we have continued to be a successful company.

Jim was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri where he lived for a while until he decided to move with his family to Florida. He completed two years of college then spent the next six years in the catholic seminary. Jim was also President of the Homeowners Association of Florida for over ten years. This privileged position allowed for Jim and the Godby team to have a better understanding of how to cater to our clients who are a part of homeowner associations.
These days, Jim has a routine of going to the gym every afternoon after work to keep fit and help maintain his health. We hope that after getting to know Jim a little, you feel inclined to choose a company that makes it a priority to work with individuals who take you and your security seriously.
